If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you know there’s a lot to love about Laramie. Our city is full of beautiful neighborhoods (and phenomenal neighbors). We have great schools and tons of family-owned restaurants. And to top it all off, we don’t pay state income taxes. We may not have a Target, but we have glorious mountain views *for days.*
As a realtor in Laramie, I’m constantly reminded of the many reasons I’m blessed to live here. From our small-town vibe to our brand-new medical spa, we have so much for which to be grateful.
For instance…
1. Laramie is packed with excellent coffee shops like The Human Bean and The Grounds Internet & Coffee Lounge. In a city as community-focused as ours, it’s important to have places to gather with friends, and these shops perfectly fit the bill.
2. Our city is also a mecca of outdoor recreation. Hiking, mountain biking, UTVing, rock climbing, snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, fishing—the list goes on. You name it, we’ve got it.
3. Not only do we love the outdoors, but we don’t have to travel far to enjoy it. Every activity listed above is accessible within 45 minutes of the city.
4. Downtown Laramie is one of the coolest spots on the map. Not only is it lined with thriving small businesses, but its history has also been preserved with great care. Whether you’re a parent (like me) or a university student, it’s a fun place to explore.
5. And speaking of the University of Wyoming, I absolutely love living in a college town. There’s never a dull moment when you’re surrounded by Pokes fans.
6. I know I already mentioned our many local dining options, but I can’t help naming a few of my favorites. Be sure to check out San Luis Mexican Restaurant, The Butcher Block, and 2nd Street Deli.
7. Laramie loves its sports, and it’s easy to find fellow Cowboys fans. Enough said.
8. Did you think this post would be complete without a small business shoutout (or three)? Don’t miss Range Leather Co., West Block Vintage, or NEED MORE SALSA.
9. Yes, winters in Wyoming are cold, but we have perfect summer weather. How else would we manage all our lake days?!
10. And honestly, there’s no better way to develop some “grit” than to spend the winter in Laramie. It’s chilly, but it’s survivable. What doesn’t kill you, right?
11. Okay, fine. If snow is not your thing, you can be grateful that Laramie is within a couple of hours of an international airport. When you’re determined to fly south for the winter, you totally can.
12. There are always community events taking place in the city, and participating is a great way to create family memories and fully enjoy living here. Our third annual International Flavor Festival is coming up in April, and I can’t wait.
13. If you’re looking for a solid church family, Laramie is the place to be. We have so many amazing churches and ample opportunities to plug into the community.
14. We now have a Chipotle!!!
15. But the thing I’m most grateful for today? I get to be from Wyoming and call it home.
I’m definitely biased, but if you’re considering a move to Laramie, I think you should go for it. Our city is beautiful, and our people are even better.
