The Best Med Spa in Laramie, Wyoming

The Best Med Spa in Laramie, Wyoming

If, like me, you’ve spent years (or decades) struggling with acne, you know how frustrating it can be. I’ve tried so many different remedies and therapies that I could fill an entire book.

Lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, tea tree essential oil, honey masks, green tea (because why not have acne and keep yourself up at night?), witch hazel, cutting dairy… The list goes on and on. You name it, I’ve tried it.

The thing about acne is that it doesn’t stop at physical symptoms. It gets in your head, messes with your self-esteem, and leaves you feeling like you’re just not doing enough. No matter how much you exfoliate, cleanse, and moisturize, you’re always two steps behind.

After a while, it gets hard to keep fighting with your skin. You look in the mirror and think, It is what it is, and you go about your day.

But that little voice inside says, Just try one more thing. Maybe that multivitamin you saw on Instagram last week will change the game.

(Spoiler: It very likely won’t.)

In my experience, no matter the situation, when you reach the end of your rope, it’s best to call in reinforcements. Retail therapy feels nice in the moment, but how often does it make a long-term impact?

This is part of why I was so excited when my friend Kim Westbrook opened a medical spa right here in Laramie. It’s called Ascent Med, and to say that my first appointment was blissful is an understatement. After years of battling with my skin, it’s such a relief to have Kim and her team on the case.

Kim treated me to a HydraFacial, cleansing my skin and then using blue light therapy to target my acne. Not only did I feel pampered, but I also felt seen. Kim gave me a chance to talk about the things I’ve tried, my frustrations, and my skin goals. She took photos of my face and told me:

“This is just the beginning of your skin story.”

My heart. I’m so excited to see how my skin transforms as I continue visiting Ascent Med.

To me, this appointment was more than just a super-cool facial and a moment to unwind. It was also an opportunity to connect with my community in a new way. Kim and her team are going to bless many people in Laramie—that’s for sure.

Congratulations to my friend on the launch of something so special. Long live Laramie’s small businesses!
